The Cuyahoga County Archives was established in 1975 and serves as a repository for the historical records of Cuyahoga County and records requiring temporary maintenance. The County archives provides three basic services:
- Preserves inactive County records kept on a continuing basis
- Assists in preparation of retention schedules and coordinates records management activities for the County
- Makes records accessible to the public
