NEWS: Cuyahoga County Announces Opening of Emergency Operations Center in Response to COVID-19

Information from the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management  

Cuyahoga County announced Tuesday March 10, 2020 the opening of Cuyahoga County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Joint Information Center (JIC) in response to three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cuyahoga County and Governor Mike DeWine’s Declaration of Emergency for Ohio. Starting March 16, the EOC will be open from 8 am to 5 pm. The Center will expand hours as needed.  

EOC operations enhance the County’s ability to support and manage county-level disaster response and recovery efforts. The EOC monitors and coordinates resources that may be needed by Cuyahoga County communities. If supplies are not available locally, the EOC coordinates with the State EOC.  

The JIC is comprised of personnel and technology resources necessary to provide efficient and effective public information management in order to develop common, coordinated messaging and to help support the EOC.

All activities within the EOC are managed by the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management (CCOEM). 

Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours will be adjusted depending upon need.
