Introducing the Bike-with-a-Mayor Series!

On Saturday, April 22, roughly 200 residents gathered at Merwin’s Wharf to participate in a guided bike ride as part of “Celebrate Trails Day” festivities, joining County Executive Chris Ronayne, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, and Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman. This ride was the first of its kind in Cleveland, bringing together leaders with the ability to create change while also highlighting completed, in-progress and future trail projects.

This event also kicked off the County’s new Bike-with-a-Mayor series, consisting of bike rides (or other forms of activity) lead by public officials to highlight the County’s Cuyahoga Greenways network.

The Cuyahoga Greenways network is a county-wide network consisting of hundreds of miles of trails and bikeways that aims to expand opportunities for commuting, recreation and exercise across Cuyahoga County.

The Bike-with-a-Mayor series is a great way to let residents know about this county-wide network and the plans to do more. Mayors and staff can get input from residents about trail and transportation needs and provides an opportunity for civic leadership to showcase projects and initiatives in their community.
