Library Partnership Increases Resident Access to Resources

An innovative partnership between Cuyahoga County, the Cuyahoga County Public Library, and the Cleveland Public Library ensures that county residents can conveniently access benefits resources while connecting with education and workforce development programs at the library. By bringing services to neighborhoods via local library branches, Cuyahoga County can reach residents in every community, every age, and every background, regardless of where they are in the county or in life.
“This is an exciting innovative partnership with our County and Cleveland Libraries that will significantly further two of our top priorities – putting our residents on a path to a career with a family sustaining wage, and making County services more easily available throughout our neighborhoods,”
said County Executive Armond Budish.
Through this partnership, the local libraries become one-stop shops for residents, where they can access workforce development and education programs and also apply for benefits. By offering all of these services at local library branches the County is removing barriers to service, as residents won’t have to go to separate locations to access County services.
Services that can be accessed include:
- Benefits (Applications for cash, food, medical, and child care assistance)
- Basic Skills Education/Adult Basic Education
- High School Equivalency Test Preparation
- Digital Literacy
- And more
“By making it more convenient for residents across Cuyahoga County to access the social services they need while helping connect them with educational and workforce opportunities at the library, we are doing our part to foster individual opportunity and community progress. We are proud to collaborate with Cuyahoga County and Cleveland Public Library to support our residents,” said Sari Feldman, Executive Director, Cuyahoga County Public Library.
Residents will have convenient access in their community during the day, evenings and weekends at their local Cuyahoga County Library branch and can check to see what services are available through the Aspire Greater Cleveland Program by visiting www.aspiregreatercleveland.org.
